Sensor Research Products

Accelerate commercialization of new sensor technologies.

  • Instrumentation platforms from Fluid Photonics are forward and backward-migratable.
  • Sensor characterization experiments are done using a scalable hardware solution.
  • Export datasets from the lab directly to the Hummingbird™ continuous monitor.
  • Deploy new sensor technologies where they matters most, in extreme and remote locations.
Quick Strip™

Hit the ground running, with a test strip reader from Fluid Photonics. The Quick Strip™ system is designed to analyze test strips made from Whatman™ filter paper disks. Simply coat the paper in your reagent of choice, then place on top of the solid-state test strip reader for measurement.

The Quick Strip™ test strip reader is a bandpass fluorometer and a spectrophotomer all-in-one. Select from a wide range of excitation wavelengths and bandpass detectors that ship within 3 business days.

eX96 WPR™

A compact data recorder designed to fit right-in to your 96-channel pipettor. Ninety-six tiny data recorders measure the instant when liquid meets liquid.

Each well is a tiny test tube, where photochemical experiments simulate the same liquid-liquid analytical procedure taking place inside your Hummingbird™ continuous monitor. Quickly run through:

  • Responsivity
  • Dynamic Range
  • Environmental Stability
  • Selectivity
  • Degradation

The eX96 WPR™ makes it possible to test sensor performance on a small scale, before migrating to the continuous-monitor designed for high flow rate. This cuts down drastically on experiment waste, and makes each experiment 96 times more productive.

Hummingbird™ CM

Description
The Hummingbird™ platform is a tool used to create custom sensors for chemical concentration monitoring.
The key element is a fluid-fluid microreactor that is immersed within crossflow of the liquid to be analyzed. Here, the sensing material recognizes the target analyte to produce an optical response that is quantified by self-contained instruments. Sensing material is constantly replenished, ensuring that sensor performance does not degrade, even in the harshest environments.
Sensors are connected to a portable control box, where reagent canisters and other system hardware is housed. Hummingbird™ systems are designed to provide maximum utility to process control operators.

Features

• Programmable Microreactor: Select from a range of ready-to-use sensors for water analysis, or create a custom setup. Any reagent can be functionalized using the Hummingbird™ platform to create a custom sensor.
• Optical Instrumentation: Utilize advanced optical instruments via software to automate fluorescence, transmission or reflective analytical techniques.
• Powerful Computational Resources: An automotive-grade ARM Cortex A8 processor provides a high-level software environment and advanced tools for data processing, telemetry and process control.
